As we ring in the new year, I hope everyone is ready to face this new year with focus and drive. We must continue to do our work to stop the trade in prostitution all over the world. Although the previous year saw a lot of good work being done, there is still a lot more work to do to eliminate human trafficking from our world.
Just today, I read a story about a girl in Nigeria who was forced to work as a prostitute in a hotel. The girl was forced to have sex with up to 10 men a day. All of the money was then given to her pimp. What makes the story even sadder is that the girl was only 13 years old.
Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
So, I hope all of you will remember the thousands of victims all over the world who needs our help. Let's get to work.
